  • Account data: name, email, timezone, and password (stored as a bcrypt hash).
  • Calendar data: events you create or sync from external providers. OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest.
  • Usage data: log entries, IP addresses, and request metadata for security and debugging.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide and improve the HomeCalendar service, including:

  • Authenticating you and managing your session.
  • Syncing events with your connected calendar providers (Google, Apple, Microsoft).
  • Sending notifications you have opted into.
  • Investigating security incidents and preventing abuse.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only in limited circumstances:

  • Calendar providers: OAuth tokens are used to read and write to connected calendars on your behalf.
  • Email delivery: we use SendGrid to send transactional emails.
  • Legal requirements: we may disclose data if required by law or to protect our rights.

4. Data Retention

We retain your data as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time by contacting us at support@homecalendar.com.

5. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS, encrypted OAuth token storage, server-stored access tokens with configurable TTL, and rate limiting. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
